Full Moon Puja
Full Moon Puja was conducted by Sri Sakthi Amma and the temple priest on the evening of Sunday January 27th, 2013 in the Yagashala at the Sri Narayani Peedam. As usual there was a huge gathering of devotees who came to witness this auspicious event and to receive the blessings of Beloved Amma.
The Full Moon day is very auspicious, and Amma performs special Pujas and Yagams on Full Moon. Amma performs a special yagam every month on the full moon night, for four hours. In the evening, the preparation for the Yagam starts with the procession. Devotees gather in hundreds along with the consorts of the Goddess, viz., Elephants, Horses and the temple priests carrying lamps, flags and Bhakshas.
After the procession, devotees assemble in the Yagashala, behind the Shanti Mandapam at the Sri Narayani Peedam to witness the yagam performed by Amma. After the Yagam, Amma gives a divine discourse, followed by Theertham prokshanam and prasadam. The devotees also get a Raksha (sacred band to be tied to the wrist) which is blessed by Amma. This Yagam is performed for the welfare of humanity and all other living forms in the universe.
