Inauguration of NICU

On March 26th, 2007, the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit of the Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre was inaugurated by the Honourable Justice Mr. Padmanaban of the High Court in Chennai in the divine presence of Arul Thiru Sakthi Amma. While Amma lit the Kuthuvilakku lamp, Justice Mr. Padmanaban cut the ribbon to officially open the NICU.

Mr. N. Balaji welcomes the gathering

The Director of the hospital Mr. N. Balaji welcomed the gathering. Justice Mr. Padmanaban in his address recalled his first visit when he was invited to lay the foundation stone for the hospital and commended the services of the dedicated medical team of the hospital. Sri Sakthi Amma addressed the nobility of the medical profession stating that they were only chosen to make others happy and have a long life. Amma gave an example of a ground nut.

Amma's Discourse:

“If you eat a ground nut, the pleasure you get from it remains with you only for a few minutes. But if you plant it, many ground nuts will grow feeding many people. If someone is hungry and you give him something to eat, after some time passes he will start to feel hungry again. That pleasure of being full is short lived."

If a patient approaches a doctor after 5.00 p.m. and the doctor refuses to attend to the patient because he says that his hours of duty are over, his guilty conscience will haunt him throughout his life. On the contrary if the doctor makes a small sacrifice and agrees to attend to the patient in spite of his busy schedule, the happiness he derives will remain in his mind as well as his patients mind all through both of their lives.

Only through sacrifice one can achieve success. When we leave for the heavenly abode, no one takes anything of this world with him/her. Only the reward of your deeds will accompany you. The chance of thinking good thoughts and executing them for the happiness of others is always available in the medical field.”
