Thousands of devotees visited Sripuram and Sri Narayani Peedam to celebrate Kaanum (viewing) Pongal. Several hundred has the opportunity to receive blessings directly from our beloved Sri Narayani (Shakti) Amma. Kaanum Pongal is the fourth and final day of the Pongal Festival. Some see this day as an auspicious day to arrange marriages and to start new relationships. Some ladies use this day to offer special prayers to lord Surya (Sun god) for the wellbeing of their brothers.
