A new baby elephant has been added to the Amma family at the Peedam.  His name is Karpagam and he was donated to the Peedam by a family from Vellore. Karpagam is just seven years old and is a very playful elephant.  Apart from doing the abhishekam of the Lakshmi Statue behind the Swayambhu temple and blessing the devotees who feed him, he can also play the mouth organ.
