Milk Abhishekam for Swarna Lakshmi

Friday February 8th, 2013 was a bright amd beautiful morning. The air was filled with excitement and curiosity. Everyone was waiting with great anticipation to see Swarna Lakshmi (the Golden Lakshmi).
By mid afternoon the Shanthi Mandapam and Sri Narayani Peedam were decorated and the Hall was filled with devotees and invited guests. Meanwhile in front of Sri Narayani Temple, a Sri Suktha Homa was being performed by the priests.

Soon, Beloved Amma arrived at Shanthi Mandapam and performed the aarathi and made sure that every detail of the ceremony was blessed and ready before the curtain was opened. When the curtain opened there was so much awe, astosnishment, joy and happiness on everyone's faces. There was no sound except for the melody of the instruments playing welcoming the Golden Goddess.

Everyone just froze in the reality that they were so blessed to be there in person to witness such beauty and ilumination. With the radiance of 70kg of glittering gold and the sculptered beauty of of the Bimba (form) nothing else was to be expected.

First Beloved Amma performed milk abhishekam for the Golden Goddess and then Amma's mother performed milk abhishekam. After this all the other devotees were given the opportunity to perform milk abhishekam one by one on Swarna Lakshmi. This went on for about three hours after which the curtain closed.

Beloved Amma then decorated the Goddess behind the closed curtains in all flower garlands and did the aarathi. Only the face of Goddess Swarna Lakshmi was exposed while the rest of her was adorned with fragrant flower garlands. This was for her to enjoy the fragrance of the flowers during her rest to be ready for the next big day - The Eye Opening ceremony.
