Navarathri Celebrations - Day 1

On Friday October 8th, 2010 marked the first day of Navarathri. This auspicious time was celebrated with Chandi Homam at the Deepa Mandapam in the Sripuram and near the Swayambhu Temple at the Sri Narayani Peedam.

Priests from Bangalore conducted the Homams. Later in the day there were Sumangali puja and Kanya puja performed with 3 married ladies and 9 children taking part. In the evening a RAS - Garbha dance performed by the Ambica Mitr Mandal from Vellore took place at the Sripuram.
