
Navarathri Celebrations - Program
This year the Navarathri celebrations begin on October 7th, 2010 and ends on October 17th, 2010. This auspicious time will be celebrated with sepcial pujas and cultural programs at the Sri Narayani Peedam and Sripuram. Everyone is invited to attend the celebrations.
Navarathri which means "nine nights"; "Nav" means "nine" and "thri" means "night". It is one of the most popular and widely celebrated Hindu festivals. The festival honours the Mother Goddess and Her forms. The first three days are dedicated to Goddess Durga. Next three days are dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, and the last three are dedicated to Goddess Saraswati.
