On 14 th January our Beloved Sri Narayani (Shakti) Amma took part in the Pongal and Sankranti Pooja in Sripuram. Amma’s mother also participated in the pooja.

Sankranti is festival day dedicated to Lord Surya (Sun God). It marks the end of the winter cycle and the start of warmer longer days in India. Pongal is celebrated as a Thanksgiving Ceremony for the year’s harvest. It happens around the same time as Sankranti which is Mid-January.
