Sri Narayani Hospital - Medical Camps

During the month of February 2009, the Community Health Department of the Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre conducted many Medical Camps as part of their ongoing Outreach Program.

This month they conducted camps for Polio Vaccinations, Ante Natal Care, Dental and Diabetes.

Polio Vaccination Camp

A polio vaccination camp was conducted at the Sripuram in accordance with the Government Health Program. Dr. T. Kannaki headed the team which administered 920 doses of the vaccination.

Ante Natal Care Camps

Ante Natal Care camps were conducted on the 4th, 12th, 18th and 25th, of February, 2009 in Udayar Palayam, Sembedu, Pulimedu, Vasanthanadai, Moolagate, Eripudhur, Thiruvalluvar Nagar and Erular Colony. The auxiliary nurse examined over 110 pregnant women. This camp is done to reach pregnant women in the rural areas who are too far away from hospitals and those who cannot afford this kind of treatment. The women were treated and given free medicines, iron tablets, injections and advice as required.

Dental Care Camps

Dental Care Camps were conducted on the 5th, 13th and 20th of February, 2009 at the Elementary Schools in Thirumalaikodi, Middle School in Marudhavalli Palayam and the Elementary School in China Sekanoor. Dr. Anitha did the general and dental checkups of the students. More than 120 students were given free treatment and those who needed hospital treatment were advised.

Diabetes Camp

On February 6th, 2009 a camp for Diabetes was conducted at the Higher Secondary School in Elavambadi. Dr. G. Subapriya did the screening of the students to find out if any one of them showed signs of diabetes. More than 50 students were given free treatment and medicines for diabetes and related illnesses.
