
Sri Narayani Hospital - Medical Camps
During the month of March, 2009 the Community Health Department of the Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre conducted many Medical Camps as part of their ongoing Outreach Program.
This month they held camps for Ante Natal Care, Diabetes, Eye Examinations, Women Health Care, Paediatric and Orthopaedics.
Ante Natal Care Camps
Ante Natal Care camps were held on the 4th, 11th and 25th of March, 2009 from Raja Palayam to Sembedu, Kudisai to Vasanthanadai and Kallamgulam to Eripudhur villages. The auxiliary nurse examined over 75 pregnant women. This camp is done to reach pregnant women in the rural areas who are too far away from hospitals and those who cannot afford this kind of treatment. The women were treated and given free medicines, iron tablets, injections and advice as required.
Diabetes Camp
A camp for the treatment of Diabetes was held on March 6th, 2009 in G.R. Palayam. Dr. G. Subapriya headed the team and she examined over 50 patients for diabetes. The patients were treated, given free medicines and were advised on the importance of taking their medication regularly and adopting and maintaining healthy food and exercise habits.
Eye Examination Camp
A camp was held for the purpose of eye examinations on March 10th, 2009 in Elavambadi. Dr. Chavvi Agarval headed the team and she examined more than 30 patients for eye problems. All examinations and medications were provided free of charge.
Orthopaedic Camp
The Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre and the Lions Club of Vellore conducted a camp for the treatment of Orthopaedic problems on March 13th, 2009 in Kosapet, Vellore. Dr. Niranjan and Dr. Rajasekar specialists in the field of Orthopaedics examined over 200 patients free of charge.
Women Health Care Camp
A camp for Women Health Care was held on March 20th, 2009 in G.R. Palayam. Dr. Kavitha Balaji examined over 25 patients for menstrual disorders, lower abdominal pain, discharges, prolapsed uterus and many other common health problems. The patients received the examination and medical treatment free of charge.
Paediatric Camp
A paediatric camp was held on March 26th, 2009 in G.R.Palayam. Dr. Mamtha examined over 60 children for common paediatric problems like the cold and cough, asthma, vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of weight and appetite, skin diseases, heart diseases and malnutrition. The children were examined and given medicines free of charge. Those who needed hospital treatment were advised to come to the hospital.
