Sri Narayani Hospital - Medical Camps

During the month of May, 2009 the Community Health Department of the Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre conducted many Medical Camps as part of their Outreach Program.

This month they held camps for Asthma Check ups, Ante Natal Care, Eye Examinations, General Medical, Paediatric and Blood Donation.

Asthma Check Up Camp

On May 2nd, 2009 an Asthma Check-up Camp sponsored by CIPLA was held at the Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre. Dr. Karthikeyan headed the camp where he examined over 125 patients for asthma and provided medical treatment free of charge.

Ante Natal Care Camps

Ante Natal Care Camps were held on the 5th, 14th and 20th May 2009 from Thelur to Pulimedu, Thiruvalluvar Nagar to Athiyur and Udyar Palayam to Agamedu villages. The auxiliary nurse examined over 80 pregnant women. This camp is done to reach pregnant women in the rural areas who are too far away from hospitals and those who cannot afford this kind of treatment. All the women were treated and given free medicines, iron tablets, injections and advice as required.

Eye Examination Camp

An Eye Examination camp was conducted on 5th, May 2009 at the Government Higher Secondary School in Kaniyambadi. Dr. Chavvi Agarval headed the camp where she and her associates examined and treated over 41 patients for eye problems free of charge.

General Medical Camp

The Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre & Susee Motors got together and conducted a General Medical Camp on Sunday May 17th, 2009. Dr. Karthikeyan, Dr. Madhuravalli and Dr. Chavvi Agarval headed the team to provide medical examinations and treatments to patients for general health and ophthalmic problems. Over 75 patients were examined and given medicines free of charge.

Paediatric Camp

A Paediatric Camp was held on May 21st May, 2009 in Thorapadi, Arunachalam Thriumanamandapam. Dr. Mamtha and the health team examined over 80 children for common paediatric problems like the cold and cough, asthma, vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of weight and appetite and skin diseases due to malnutrition. The doctor gave free treatment and medicines to the children as required.

Blood Donation Camp

On May 25th, 2009 a Blood Donation Camp was held at the Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre a joint venture by the Indian Overseas Bank and the Hospital. Dr. Premila Appu, Dr. Sridharan and Dr. Appu headed the camp in an effort to create awareness on the importance of Blood Donation and to collect different groups of blood for benefit of the patients at the Hospital. Over 60 members of the Indian Overseas Bank generously donated blood.
