Sri Narayani Hospital - Medical Camps

During the month of June, 2008 the Community Health Department of the Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre conducted many Medical Camps as part of their Outreach Program.

This month they conducted camps for Gynae, Ante Natal Care Home Visits, Paediatric and Blood Donation.

Gynaecological Camps

Gynae Camps were held on the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th of June, 2008 in Seelari, Annachipapalyam, Maruthavallipalayam and Budhur. Dr. Madhuri, Dr. Anitha examined over 200 patients for menstrual problems, lower abdominal pain, discharges, prolapsed uterus and other gynae disorders. The patients received free treatment and medicines.

School Health Camps

School Health Camps were held on the 5th, 7th, 12th, 19th and 26th of June, 2008 in Unaivaniyambadi, Pattaiyur, Elavambadi and Pulimedu. Dr. Anitha, Dr. Raju and Dr. Narendrababu examined over 275 children to find common paediatric problems like frequent attacks of the cold and cough, asthma, vomiting diarrhoea, loss of weight and appetite, skin diseases, heart diseases and diseases due to malnutrition. All the children received free treatment and medicines. The children also received a treat of tooth brushes and chocolates.

Ante Natal Care Camps

Ante Natal Care Camps were held on the 4th, 11th and 18th of June, 2008 from Mulagate to Earipudhur, Ariyur Kuppam to Athiyur and Rajapalayam. The Auxiliary Nurse examined over 65 pregnant women. This camp is done to reach pregnant women in the rural areas who are too far away from hospitals and those who cannot afford this kind of treatment. All the women were treated and given free medicines, iron tablets, injections and advice as required.

Blood Donation Camp

On June 25th, 2008 a Blood Donation Camp was done in response to the critical shortage of blood supply for those in need of it. This camp was headed by Dr. Rekha of the Sri Narayani Hospital and Research Centre at the hospital's Blood Storage Centre. Blood was donated by over 12 members of staff, locals and visitors to the Sri Narayani Peedam.

General Medicine Camps

General Medicine Camps were held on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th of June, 2008 in Unaivaniyambadi, Pattaiyur, Thirumalaikodi. Dr. Anitha, Dr. Madhuri & Dr. Madhuravalli examined over 350 patients for common diseases among people who live in unhygienic conditions and are prone to health hazards. All the patients were treated and given free medicines.
