
Sri Narayani Hospital - Medical Camps
During the month of September, 2008 the Community Health Department of the Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre conducted many Medical Camps as part of their Outreach Program.
This month they did camps on Women's Health Care, Ante Natal Care Home Visits, General Medicine, Neurological and Diabetes.
Women's Health Care Camps
Women's Health Care Camps were held on the 6th and 10th of September, 2008 from Ariyurkuppam to Puthur. Dr. T. Tannaki examined over 20 patients for menstrual disorders, lower abdominal pain, discharges, prolapsed uterus, etc. All the patients were treated and given free medicines.
Ante Natal Care Camps
Ante Natal Care Camps were held on the 9th, 17th and 24th of September, 2008 from Puthur to Panangadu, Tharvazhi to Eripudhur and Ariyurkuppam to Puthur. The Auxiliary Nurse examined over 80 pregnant women. This camp is done to reach pregnant women in the rural areas who are too far away from hospitals and those who cannot afford this kind of treatment. All the women were treated and given free medicines, iron tablets, injections and advice as required.
General Medicine Camps
General Medicine Camps were held on the 5th and 19th of September, 2008 at the Vellore LIC office and in Vasantha Nadai. Dr. T. Kannaki and Dr. Varadhan examined over 182 patients for common diseases among people who live in unhygienic conditions and are prone to health hazards. All the patients were treated and given free medicines.
Neurological Camp
A Neurological Camp was held on the 13th of September, 2008 at the Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre in Thirumalaikodi. Dr. G. Prem Kumar examined over 60 patients for common neurological problems like chronic headaches, giddiness, etc. All the patients were treated and given free medicines.
Diabetes
A Diabetes Camp was held on the 27th September, 2008 at the Sri Narayani Hospital in Thirumalaikodi. Dr. Sudhakar examined over 45 patients for diabetes. All the patients were treated, given free medicines and were advised on the importance of taking their medicines regularly and adopting and maintaining healthy food habits.
