Sri Narayani Hospital - Medical Camps

During the month of January, 2007 the Community Health Department of the Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre conducted many Medical Camps as part of their Outreach Program.

This month they did Paediatric, Ante Natal Care Home Visits, Gynae and Under Five camps.

Paediatric Camps
Paediatric Camps were held on the 6th and 24th of January, 2007 in Thirumalaikodi. Dr. Parimala Bai M.D., Dr. Prakash, the Paediatrician and the health team examined over 181 children for common paediatric problems like the cold and cough, asthma, vomiting diarrhoea, loss of weight and appetite, skin diseases, heart diseases and diseases due to malnutrition. The doctor gave free treatment and medicines to the children.

Ante Natal Care Camps
Ante Natal Care Camps were held on the 11th and 25th of January, 2007 from Elavambadi to Eripudhur and Ariyur Kuppam to Pulimedu. The Auxiliary Nurse examined over 56 pregnant women. This camp is done to reach pregnant women in the rural areas who are too far away from hospitals and those who cannot afford this kind of treatment. All the women were treated and given free medicines and advice as required.

Gynaecological Camps
Gynae Camps were held on the 12th and 19th of January, 2007 in Bhudur and Ariyur. The Gynaecologist examined over 52 women. This camp is done to reach both young and older females in the rural areas who are too far away from hospitals and those who cannot afford this kind of treatment. All the women were treated and given free medicines and advice as required.

Under Five Clinic
An Under Five Clinic was held on the 30th of January, 2007 in Natarmangalam. The Paediatrician examined over 65 children. This camp is done to reach children in the rural areas who are too far away from hospitals and those who cannot afford to be immunized against diseases or afford other kinds of treatment. All the children were treated and given free medicines as required.
