
Sri Narayani Proclamation Day - 18th Anniversary Celebrations
It was a beautiful Saturday morning in Malaikodi on May 8th 2010. As usual crowds of devotees gathered at the Sri Narayani Peedam anxiously waiting to participate in the Sri Narayani Amma Proclamation Day 18th Anniversary celebrations.
Beloved Amma performed the usual morning pujas after which Amma go ready for the celebrations at the Sri Vidyalaya School.The celebrations consisted of a procession which started at the Sri Narayani Vidyalaya School and culminated at the Swayambhu Temple at the Sri Narayani Peedam.Beloved Amma started from the Peedam to the Sri Narayani Vidyalaya School 06:50am. As Amma arrived at the school, Amma lit the kuthuvilakku lamp (organized by the Baktha Sabha and the Reception Committe).
After this the arathi to the Kalasam ( silver vessel containing Turmeric water for the abhishekam of Swayambhu Narayani) was performed and placed on the head of the Smt. Jothi Amma.The temple elephants followed by the Nadaswaram group were at the front of the procession. Sri Sakthi Amma led the procession with Smt. Jothi Ammal carrying the kalasam towards the Peedam.They were followed by the Baktha Sabha,and the foreign and local devotees.
On arriving at the Swayambhu Temple, Sri Sakthi Amma took the Kalasam and performed the first Abhishekam on Swayambhu Narayani.The next abhishekam was performed by Smt. Jothi Ammal.Thereafter each devotee took their turn to perform Abhishekam on this auspicious day.The line was long and the sun was hot but the devotees were patient and waited for their turn.Abhishekams were performed by 10,008 devotees which ended at around 7:00pm.
At the end of the day Beloved Amma did the evening puja at the Swayambhu Temple.
