Sripuram - 64th Republic Day Celebrations

On Saturday January 26th, 2013 the 64th Rebublic Day celebrations was hedl at the Sripuram Golden Temple. The celebrations started with Flag Hoisting ceremony followed by an address by the Director of Sripuram, Shri M. Suresh Babu.

As per Sri Sakthi Amma's wish, inside the Sripuram campus, at the entrance gate a mega flag pole is erected and the Indian National Flag was hoisted. Every day at 6:00 AM the National Flag is hoisted with full honours with the staff singing the National Anthem and at 6:00 PM every day it religiously brought down. Everyday 15,000 people view the flag hoisting and their patriotism is awakened by this site. On special occasions, like Republic Day on 26-01-2013 the National Flag is hoisted with special celebrations.

Amma's message on the hoisting of the National Flag - "It is very important for us to respect our country first, even before we pray to our mother or father, as this holy land has given us the opportunity to express our creativity by giving us the freedom to think, speak, create and rejoice in glory of its rich traditions".
