On Tuesday September 9th, 2008 Vinayaka Chathurty was celebrated at the Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre. The members of staff and the Director gathered in the Meditation Hall at around 8.30 in the morning for the Vinayaka puja.

Mr. N. Balaji, Director of the Hospital performed the puja to the beautifully decorated deity of Sri Vinayaka, after which the Hospital staff and the students of the Sri Narayani College of Nursing joined him in reciting the Narayani Sloka and singing a devotional song on Sri Vinayaka. After the puja, prasadam was distributed to everyone.

Vinayaka Chathurty is the birthday of Lord Ganesh. Lord Ganesh is the "destroyer of sorrows and remover of obstacles" and is honoured at the start of any ritual or ceremony. Wherever Ganesh is, there is success and prosperity.
